Our High School Girls Volleyball team won their first match of the season on Thursday, beating Scheck Hillel 3-2 in 5 sets. Junior Tehila Ciment had a great night, putting together a string of 11 straight service points, including 4 aces during that stretch. Also aiding in the victory for the Warriors was Junior Shana Strohli, who led all hitters with 10 kills, while Seniors Rachel Davoudpour contributed 4 blocks and Sarah Rothman added 20 assists. The Warriors next game is on Tuesday, September 10th vs. Jewish Culture. Our Cross Country teams competed in the Miami Country Day Open on Wednesday at Greynolds Park. 8th Grader Zach Rothman had the fastest time for the boys, finishing the 5k race with a time of 20:40. Finishing not too far behind him with a time of 20:52 was Junior Jacob Leibowitz. For the girls, Junior Eli Wolfson had the fastest time, finishing in 29:04, while Sophomore Esther Parnas finished her race in 29:23.
