Social-emotional learning holds a significant role in the elementary curriculum at Hebrew Academy. Recently, students from both first and fourth grades collaborated on a reading and social-emotional project centered around the book “The Good Egg” by Jory John and Pete Oswald. While the first graders focused on character traits and sequencing, the fourth graders explored themes in the story. During the project, first grade students visited the fourth grade classroom to create their own paper eggs. This collaborative effort involved designing their interpretations of the Good Egg character and discussing strategies to manage feelings of worry. It was wonderful to see the exchange of ideas and teamwork between the two grade levels. Our Approach to Judaic Studies See Our Difference Categories (tags): ElementaryStudents
