Our incredible high school students recently volunteered at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital to help launch a new special needs program in honor of Mark Saka’s Bar Mitzvah. This initiative has deep personal meaning for the Saka family, who have dedicated the past year to creating this program. Through their partnership with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, they developed sensory bags that will be given to all special needs children seen at the hospital—an enduring act of chesed in Mark’s honor. To mark the program’s launch, our students helped pack and deliver sensory bags to hospital floors and took part in a celebratory event for hospitalized kids. They greeted patients with warmth, cheering them on as they navigated an exciting “car race” activity complete with a bubble “car wash,” pom-poms, trophies, and ice cream at the finish line. The hospital staff were deeply impressed by our students’ kindness, compassion, and enthusiasm, and they’re already looking forward to welcoming them back. A special thank you to all our student volunteers for making this event unforgettable, and to Hebrew Academy parents, Michelle and William Saka, for providing this impactful opportunity. We couldn’t be prouder of our students and the chesed they shared. Categories (tags): CommunityHigh School
