Our Varsity Girls Basketball team won their 8th straight game yesterday, beating Pine School (Hobe Sound, FL) 45-25 in the FHSAA State Regional Quarterfinals. The Warriors, the #4 seed in the State Tournament, got out to a 12-2 lead in the first quarter. The Warriors expanded their lead to 32-10 going into halftime, led by Junior Eli Wolfson’s 21 first half points. Wolfson connected on 5 three pointers in the first half (6 in the game) and was also instrumental defensively, adding 5 first half steals. Senior’s Ella Turetsky and Lizzy Ebner contributed to the big first half lead, scoring 4 points and 3 points respectively in the second quarter. The Warriors cruised to victory in the second half, with point contributions from Junior’s Tali Winer and Shana Strohli. With the win, the Girls have advanced into the Regional Semifinals, the furthest our Varsity Girls program has ever advanced in the State Tournament.
