Congratulations to our Middle School Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team for clinching an IAL playoff spot after a thrilling win over ACES in overtime on Tuesday. The Warriors took an early lead in the first quarter, holding ACES to 0 points. Our lead continued through the entirety of the game, until the game’s final seconds when ACES hit a game-tying layup as the clock wound down to zero. Led by 6th-grader Zeke Gdanski’s 11 point second quarter, Gdanski would finish the game with 16 points, including the game’s deciding three points in overtime, where he knocked down three clutch free throws to secure the win for the Warriors. 7th-grader Ben Baranes added 8 points, double-digit rebounds, and multiple blocks, providing crucial plays throughout the game for the Warriors. 7th-grader’s Liam Eliani and Samson Karp added 4 points and 3 points respectively, as did 6th-grader Jacob Feldman, who finished with 3 points. The Warriors 34-31 victory secured the 3rd seed in the IAL playoffs starting on Monday, when we will take on St. Mark’s Episcopal School in the Quarterfinals.
