This week, our middle school students participated in a series of educational and exciting field trips that blended hands-on learning with adventure.

8th Graders Strengthen Bonds at Tree Trekkers
Eighth graders headed to Jungle Island for a day of team-building at Tree Trekkers, a ropes adventure course. This field trip challenged students to work together through a series of activities designed to foster teamwork, communication, and resilience. The experience encouraged trust and camaraderie as students prepare for the next step in their academic journey—high school.

7th Graders Take Flight at iFLY
Seventh graders had the opportunity to experience science in action during their visit to iFLY, an indoor skydiving facility. The trip included an interactive STEM presentation, live physics demonstrations in the wind tunnel, and lab activities tailored to their grade level. Students measured and interpreted data during experiments before experiencing a personal flight with a certified instructor. This trip brought classroom lessons to life, deepening their understanding of flight, motion, and forces.

6th Graders Explore Biscayne Bay with Miami Waterkeepers
On Friday, September 13th, the sixth-grade class visited Pelican Harbor to participate in Miami Waterkeepers’ “Floating Classrooms” program. Aboard a boat in Biscayne Bay, students conducted water quality testing, explored marine life with an underwater drone, and learned about environmental threats like pollution. They also participated in a marine debris clean-up, contributing to global research on ocean health.

These field trips provided students with exciting opportunities to apply classroom lessons in real-world settings while developing essential life skills.
