As part of Teach Florida’s Mission to Tallahassee, Hebrew Academy’s Head of School, Mrs. Lisa Stroll, and Executive Director, Rachel Weinberger, joined students on a powerful day of advocacy at the State Capitol.

Together with schools from across the state, our delegation advocated for continued funding for Jewish day school security grants and pushed for inclusive zoning policies that support the growth and sustainability of Jewish education in Florida.

Students Elior Weinberger (Grade 11), Zelda Krinsky (Grade 9), Jack Ciment (Grade 10), Eliana Bensoussan (Grade 11), and Shirel Benhamou (Grade 10) gained firsthand experience in civic engagement, learning how to advocate for our community’s needs and take an active role in shaping public policy.

Most importantly, we expressed hakarat hatov—our deep gratitude to public officials—and appreciation for the rights and freedoms we enjoy as participants in a thriving democracy.
