This week, our 6th-grade Israel STEAM students and our Bnot Sherut explored the wonders of the Dead Sea through an exciting, hands-on learning experience. They mapped its location, investigated its unique properties, and conducted fascinating scientific experiments. Students uncovered the mystery of effortless floating by demonstrating how salt concentration affects water density. In a creative twist, they also crafted beautiful colorful salt jars in the laboratory, transforming scientific principles into artistic expressions that captured the mineral-rich essence of the Dead Sea. The highlight was the playful and sensory experience with natural Dead Sea mud. Students laughed and learned as they applied the mineral-rich mud, getting a hands-on (and hands-dirty!) feel for the unique Israeli Dead Sea environment. The activity transformed learning into a fun, aromatic adventure that brought the dead sea’s natural wonders to life, allowing students to literally touch, smell, and experience the magic of this incredible natural landmark.
